Today we answer questions about WordPress maintenance, pricing strategies, competitors, lock-ins, membership sites and much more. But first, let us remember that we are already in the middle of the Community Management course , in which today we will see the editorial calendar and advertising. Do not miss it! And now yes, we are going for the questions, the protagonists of the day and of the week, because we remember that we only dedicate it to answering questions. 1. Hello Joan and the team, after making several websites for friends and family, I have received offers to make several websites professionally. These potential clients tell me that they want me to do the web for them and they don’t want any maintenance service, updates or anything… My question is; If I create those websites, using premium plugins like Elementor Pro, once the project is finished, what do I do? Do I deactivate the license of the payment plugin? in that case they will never be able to update it and that may give them compatibility problems in the future … or on the contrary, do I leave the license activated for life, when you have only paid for a website? Do you think that a WordPress implementer should always insist on “hiring” a web maintenance service? Even just to update WP and plugins? Then, what could be a reasonable price if it is only upgrade? Should it be a monthly price? Annual? Turks and Caicos Islands Email List In the end, if it is only updating, and there are no problems, it is quite fast, so it does not seem ethical to ask for a large sum either.
I don’t know, I can think of € 200 or € 250 per year JUST for updating, without making changes to the web. I am not very clear about what happens when you use a premium plugin and do not renew the license … the changes are lost, in the end, I have the feeling that if you use a paid plugin you are obliged to keep it for life … I do not know if I am very wrong in all this, I hope you can give me a hand. Thank you. (Alberto) I can think of € 200 or € 250 per year JUST for updating, without making changes to the web. I love the strategy of the good, the ugly and the bad but for a while now I wonder if, visually, it works just as well when the user reaches our sales pages through a mobile phone. I think that on the big screen you see everything “at once”, you get an idea and the comparison arises by itself. But if you have to scroll … you may not even see the second or third option because before that you have already disconnected or succumbed to another shiny object. What do you think? Is there an optimal way to vary the design for mobile devices or do I start to focus on clients my age who also have a predilection for large screens? xD Thanks for your answer. Petons. (Neus) 3. Hello Joan. I congratulate you enormously on this wonderful podcast that I have been following for almost 3 years. You are a very wise and very simple man. God bless your humility. My question is the following I am a civil servant (military) with a long-term commitment until I am 45 years old and now I am 40 and I see myself with very little time and eager to learn I want to start on my own in a few years in the construction sector. In particular I have plumber qualifications but I collaborate with friends from other unions and my initial idea is to set up a multi-service in my province. Uae Phone Number I want you to please advise me on what I should study within your platform to stand out from the competition that has taken years and years but what they do not have much presence on the internet beforehand Thank you very much and a big hug greetings from Tudela, Navarra (July)
4. Hello Joan, teacher, how are you! I have a question that perhaps more people are also interested in knowing. I know you are not very fond of Elementor type builders but I have heard very well about Oxygen builder and seen the loading speed compared to Elementor and I liked it a lot because of its possibilities. I am preparing a new membership site and I would love to hear your opinion about oxygen builder, especially compared to Genesis. A sincere and affectionate hug, my friend. (Jorge) 5. Good morning Joan, You are a great uncle, let’s see if you stop by Marbella, let him know and we have a vegan wine. Well my question is the following. Have I ever thought of asking my clients to make a video review, for our stories, it is something that has always seemed good to me but I have not done, it already serves for cognitive biases and also if the client is also a company it serves them so that through me they have more visibility. But I do not know if it is necessary to have a written authorization from the client to later be able to use the video on our website and in the RRSS, due to the question of data protection and private image. Waiting for your response, a big hug for your family and for you. Greetings. (Joseph) 6. Hello Joan! First of all, thank you for your work. I am starting with your courses and everything is useful information to follow. Specifically, I am with the Marketplace course where you develop the VegaNostrum project. I have seen that the web is no longer active so I understand that the project has been abandoned. Obviously not all projects go ahead, but could you please indicate what has gone wrong with the project? Thanks and best regards. (José) 7. Hello Joan. What happened to Restrict Content Pro? I know you’re a big fan and that you use it in several projects but I can’t stop reading that iThemes has bought it and people are currently very dissatisfied. How can it be that changing ownership makes it so “worse”? Just for the support or have they reached inside and screwed up? Do you still recommend it? Is there any other alternative that is better right now? Thank you. (José) And here are the questions of the day! I hope that the answers have been of interest and help both to those who have asked and to those who have listened. As always, thank you very much everyone for your 5-star ratings on iTunes , iVoox , YouTube and Spotify , subscribing to the courses and for being there, on the other side. Without you this would not be what it is, without you this simply … It would not be! We will hear from each other tomorrow Thursday with more questions and answers. As always, at 07:07. Until then … Good morning!
